Curiosity is mainly fueled by the fact that new types of lasers are still being invented and new, fascinating, even unthinkable applications are constantly being introduced. The sense of wonder, which does not escape the reader less informed, results mainly from the pervasiveness of the laser: there is science and technology that has not been affected, sometimes in a revolutionary way, by this invention.
